Business Recycling and Composting Program offers technical assistance and on-site recycling containers. Businesses may be eligible for free or reduced-cost recycling service. The Composting Program offers technical assistance and on-site composting containers. Businesses may be eligible for free or reduced-cost food scrap or green waste pick-up.
StopWaiste.org offers its StopWaste Partnership program that provides technical assistance, small grants, and larger loans to businesses with the objective of implementing sustainable practices.
Green Business Certification Program is a voluntary program that certifies businesses who meet standards for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste. Certified businesses receive technical assistance and free marketing and promotion.
Clean City Program provides free litter pick-up and garbage bags to volunteers who wish to clean their street or neighborhood.
Street Trees Information provides general information on planting trees near your business, including information on the best types of trees for your street.
Smart Light Program from Community Energy Services Corporation is designed to help small businesses reduce their energy bills by upgrading to energy-efficient lighting. The Program offers free start-to-finish technical assistance and substantial subsidies towards installation and equipment costs.
Irrigation Audit and Rebate Program from EBMUD is where any customer not classified as single-family residential may obtain a free irrigation water audit. Businesses may also be eligible for free equipment, rebates and discounts on kitchen equipment.

The SmartSolar Program offers free independent, site-specific solar and energy efficient project advising to businesses. The program offers a free audit that assesses a property’s potential for installations of solar technologies and energy efficiency measure, including cost-benefit analysis, information about local contractors, building codes and ordinances, financing options, rebates, and incentives. SmartSolar can also help clients navigate the management of solar projects at their properties.
