Improving Mass Transit
The EmeryStation West at the Transit Center project is a public / private project adjacent to Emeryville’ Amtrak Station. The project includes a 248,000 square foot office/laboratory building build on top of a two story parking podium. The parking podium will include 125 public parking spaces and 4 bus bays serving Amtrak.
Project construction will include remediation of a superfund site, improve mass transit and rail connections, improve public plazas, and enhance the linkage across the railroad by improving the existing pedestrian / bicycle bridge. The city is providing an
economic development subsidy (PDF) to Wareham Development in order to reduce the upfront cost of site remediation.
