The Traffic Unit
The Traffic Unit is responsible for traffic control, conducting traffic surveys, enforcing traffic related laws such as vehicle moving violations, parking and towing issues, street sweeping, permits parking, and managing the citation appeal process. This unit consists of motorcycle officers and Police Service Technicians who are managed by a Police Sergeant.

Street Sweeping
The City of Emeryville has reinstated Street Sweeping every 1st and 2nd Thursday of every month. The Police Department will be issuing “WARNING” citations until March 10th, 2021 and citations thereafter.

Parking Citations
Please write citation number on your check and mail within 21 calendar days of issuance of the citation or 14 calendar days from the mailing of a notice of parking violation.

Low Income Payment Plan
California Vehicle Code (CVC) Section 40220 allows for installment payments of parking citations to qualifying low income individuals who apply within 120 days from the issuance of a notice of parking violation, or within 10 days after an administrative hearing determination, whichever is later. 

You may apply by completing a Low Income Payment Plan Application.

Parking Citation Review
You may contest a parking citation by filling out a Parking Citation Appeal Request form within 21 working days from the date of your citation or 14 calendar days from the Notice of Delinquent Parking Violation mailing date.

Vehicle Tow Appeal Request

You may contest a vehicle tow by filling out a Vehicle Tow Appeal Request form within 10 days of the date of the tow.
